Welcome to our quiet little ridge, overlooking the confluence of the Potomac River & Antietam Creek, just above Antietam Aqueduct on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park.
The C&O Canal Trail is less than 10 minutes away, on foot.
Antietam National Battlefield is 2 miles North, Harpers Ferry Historical Park 10 miles South.
If you love the outdoors, but need some comfort, a decent kitchen & a hot shower, this is the place for you.
We are 15 minutes from Shepherdstown, you can even bike there, on the canal trail. Berkeley Springs, Frederick, & Greenbriar State Park & Gettysburg are all reasonable day trips.
We have an E-vehicle charger, & space for 3, max 4 normal size cars. Trailers & larger travel vans will not make our twisty, steep drive, & we do not allow any loud, modified exhaust vehicles or ATVs.
Peace & Quiet is the way, here. Sorry, no pets. No tobacco smoking inside or out! Tobacco carries viruses that infect & harm many other plants. No vaping, or open flames, inside.
Available for short term rentals & very small retreats (max 6 adults), this sustainable metal Quonset hut is all one level, with extra wide doors. Our builder finished it in 2024.
Climate controlled, fully equipped kitchen with washer & dryer, pots, pans, utensils, spices, coffee maker & tea kettle, French press looks over the stone patio with Solo Stove fire pit.
For rainy days, there is WiFi, a large TV you can use with any Bluetooth device, cozy reading nooks, & an overstuffed LaZBoy recliner sofa.
An expansive stone patio with native plant garden, is surrounded by native trees, birds, butterflies & wildlife. Emily is lifelong naturalist, artist & (amateur) photographer, & this property has been her experiment, with Chuck’s engineering & labor help, since 2015. Together, they have suppressed invasive plants, while planting and protecting over 300 native trees, flowers & shrubs.
